Why I’m Grateful for Awana: A note from a Mom

We know that you are trying to be the best possible parent you can be and we want to support you along the way. Awana provides resources for you to have spiritual conversations with your child. The letter below is from a mom who used the T&T Start Zone to explain God’s grace to her son and it made an eternal difference!

“I meant to email you last week to let you know that my son, Nathan, accepted Christ! As we were going through the 1st lesson, about the Ephesians verses, everything just clicked for him. His dad and I got to pray with him. So sweet! The curriculum was so clearly written and logical. It really helped him understand his need for forgiveness, and that he cannot earn it by trying to be “good.” I could almost see the light bulb go on as we talked about grace. I am still trying to get my brain around that concept, and am thrilled to see my precious son begin that journey! He’s told a few people about his decision to ask Jesus to be his “rescuer” and his “forever friend.” I could not be more grateful for this ministry!!! Thanks you! Nathan absolutely adores his leader, and it’s fun for him to be in a group with his best buddies. Know that I am grateful beyond words!”

The Awana handbook your child brings back and forth between home and church is a treasure chest of Bible verses and topics for you to discuss with your child. Those conversations can be part of your family’s faith foundation, try taking even 5 minutes a day to talk about a verse or idea from your child’s handbook.
